What It Is
artifactualeye.net is a site for contemporary and modern art research tools. (Currently, the focus is on post-war American painting, but this will change as our artworks database grows.) To use this site, you must be a registered user (see below). The tools currently include research resources, art headlines, art timelines, and (public & private) viewing rooms.

art flashcards - slideshows of art works, with testing options
viewing rooms - image galleries or rooms; public rooms accessible to all users, private rooms set up by editors for specific users
A Brief History
artifactualeye.net is a spinoff of the art consulting firm Artifactual Eye (now defunkt). Launched in February 2004, artifactualeye.net makes avaiable to art researchers the research tools Garrett developed for Artifactual Eye.
How Users Participate
When you register you are given a status of user. Users may add comments to existing content, where applicable. To add new content to the site, you must be an editor; to request editorial status, email the artifactualeye.net admin.
About Registration
Registration is free and easy. Just go to the registration page and fill out the form - you must enter a unique username, password, your first and names, and your email address. (A working email address is important - you will be emailed a message telling you how to complete your registration.) At no time will artifactualeye.net loan, sell or give your information to anyone for any purpose.
